Day 22 # Uli & Eva

Riesenwelle? Kennen wir. Und doch ist es mega, wenn ein Hype für ein neues Frauenpaar nach Jemma entsteht. Einfach so, weil es passiert.

A giant wave? We’ve experienced that. But it is still great when there is hype for a new women pairing after Jemma. Just like that, because it just happens.

Es ist nicht das erste Mal, dass wir im Rahmen unseres Adventskalenders auf andere TV-Frauenpaare hinweisen. Nach Jemma. Und doch fühlt sich dieses Türchen an wie eine Premiere und ein Déjà-vu zugleich. Tatsächlich hat ein Frauenpaar aus einer deutschen TV-Serie (wieder) international Fanherzen erobert, in „Hotel Mondial“ (ZDF Mediathek).

Wir reden von Uli und Eva. Lasst uns dieses Türchen möglichst kurz fassen, denn: Entweder kennt und liebt ihr die beiden bereits, oder es braucht nur wenig Input, um sie euch ans Herz zu legen. Oder die Damen wecken rein gar kein Feuer in euch, was echt schade wäre. Denn wir feiern bei Jemma so viele Insider wie Trauben & Joghurt, Pizzaballett, Wolldecken – und jetzt liefert ein Frauenpaar charmante Szenen und Insider wie Miss-Minifrühstück, Tanz im Park, Stein mit Loch gegen Geister, Betten-Trampolin, hach … Wir finden: Das Kennenlernen von Uli und Eva lohnt sich. Und zugleich müssen wir hinweisen (ehe ihr euch verliebt), dass es nach aktuellen Meldungen keine Staffel 3 geben wird. Tja. Wir Jemmalinge kennen das. Das ungeliebte Aus einer Serie. Umso glücklicher können wir sein, dass Jenny und Emma in der letzten Folge HaHe ein starkes Couple sind. Für schöner Schlusspunkt für die Ewigkeit. Davon können Uli und Eva eher träumen.

Storyline: Eva de Fries übernimmt als neue Chefin das 4-Sterne-Hotel „Mondial“, das in Schwerin eine lange Tradition hat. Sie setzt überall den Rotstift an und macht sich mit den Maßnahmen zur Kosteneinsparung im Team nirgends beliebt. Besonders mit Uli Kersting, Foodchefin des renommierten Hotelrestaurants, gerät sie oft hitzig aneinander. Beide sind starke, beruflich erfolgreiche Frauen mit Charakter – die kühle Hotelchefin und die temperamentvolle Küchenchefin. Obwohl Uli eine harmonische Ehe samt gemeinsamer Tochter mit Jeremy führt, der im Hotel das Housekeeping leitet, näheren sich die beiden Frauen immer mehr an. Irgendwas ist da …

Was diese Lovestory ausmacht? Es sind definitiv starke Frauen, Frauen in Führungsrollen. Sie haben Chemie. Die Schauspielerinnen lieben ihre Rollen und schätzen sich gegenseitig, während sie Respekt vor dieser Frau-Frau-Konstellation haben und sie möglichst authentisch umsetzen wollen. 1000 Dank somit für Gesine und Agnes für ein Frauenpaar, das sich in unser Gedächtnis liebt und dort bleibt.

It’s not the first time that we’ve pointed out other female couples on TV as part of our Advent Calendar. Post Jemma. But this ‘door’ feels like a premiere and a déjà-vu all at the same time because a female couple from a German TV series has once again conquered the hearts of international fans. The name of the show: “Hotel Mondial” (ZDF Mediathek).

We’re talking about Uli and Eva. Let’s try to keep this ‘door’ as short as possible because you either already know and love the two of them or it will only take little effort to endear them to you. Or the ladies won’t light your fire at all, which would be a shame. We celebrate so many insiders from Jemma like grapes & yoghurt, pizza ballet, woolen blankets – and now a female couple delivers charming scenes and insiders like Miss Mini-Breakfast, dancing in the park, stone with a hole for warding off evil spirits, bed trampoline … We believe it is worth getting to know Uli and Eva. But we do have to warn you (before you fall in love) that the current news is that there won’t be a third season. Well. We Jemmalings know this situation. The unfortunate cancellation of a show. We are pretty lucky that Jenny and Emma ended their run in the last episode of HaHe as a strong couple. A good ending for all eternity. That is something Uli and Eva can probably only dream of.

Storyline: Eva de Fries is the new boss taking over the running of the 4-star hotel “Mondial” that has a long tradition in Schwerin. Trying to save costs by making cuts everywhere doesn’t endear herself to anyone in the team. The one she clashes with the most is Uli Kersting, the head chef of the renowned hotel restaurant. Both are strong women successful in their respective fields with strong personalities – the cool, level-headed hotel boss and the quick-tempered head chef. Even though Uli is leading a harmonious marriage that also includes a daughter with Jeremy, the head of housekeeping for the hotel, the two women get closer. There’s something there …

So what makes this love story good? First of all, it’s strong women, women in executive positions. They have chemistry. The actresses love their roles and respect and like each other while also having respect for this woman-woman constellation that they want to bring to life as authentically as possible. So a big thank you to Gesine and Agnes for a female couple that loved their way into our memories and is staying there.
