[Hospital]

 

Timo: But I'm glad the operation went well.

Doc: We accomplished a lot but unfortunately not all.

Timo: That means?

Doc: That the spinal marrow was too much damaged for a complete recovery.

Timo: For what? Will I pull a leg after me, or can't I do any sports anymore?

Doc: No. When will your parents arrive?

Timo: What is wrong with me now?

Doc: I'm sorry, but I have to tell you that your legs won't be able to take over any motoric functions anymore. You're paraplegic.

 

[Intro]

 

 

Part 1

 

Timo: Does this mean I won't be able to walk anymore? There must be an alternative! A new vertebra or something? One can't just be tied to a wheelchair like this!

Doctor: Listen, Mr. Özgul..

Timo: What, what will you tell me now?

Doctor: I know this comes as a shock to you. But according to my experience with patients just as you, this doesn't mean the end of the world. We have a very capable team of physiotherapists which will be accompanying you over the next weeks. With good therapy, you'll be able to master your everyday life almost....

 

(His voice fades out as Timo spaces out)

 

 

[Pestalozzi - Teacher's room ]

Heisig: Frau Vogel, I like your capability to control situations of crisis.

 

Bea: I only did my job.

 

Heisig: Actually, it never should have escalated like this. We cannot tolerate Peters and Bergmann randomly acting up.

 

Bea: I've told you that Ronnie Peters will grow to pose a problem.

 

Heisig: To stain another student's car is one matter, to react to such a thing with violence another.

 

Bea: Ronnie consciously provoked Ben.

 

Heisig: Does this mean Ben couldn't help himself but to lay into him?

 

Bea: Uh, Ms. Jäger! Please remember the make up exam for Saskia?

 

Ms. Jäger: It's all done and on my desk. You can take it along with you as you go.

 

Bea: Wonderful.

 

Heisig: Ms. Vogel, I am aware how Important it is to you that Ben Bergmann remains at Pestalozzi..

 

Bea: The same concern goes for all of my students. I am a teacher.

 

Heisig:  Sure. However, it is obvious, that you are not neutral in this matter. I believe, that installing you as the counselor was a premature decision. Therefore I shall make all decisions in the case of Ben Bergmann myself from now on.

 

Bea: You're actually allowing the possibility of a student coming to harm ..out of jealousy?

 

Heisig: I would not even consider that. For I am able to clearly distinction between my professional and private life.

 

 

[Raumschiff Records - Studio]

Luzi: So, how did it turn out?

 

Frank: We only mixed in some heights here and there.

 

Beschenko: May we listen to it?

 

Frank: Sure, we only need to bounce the tracks first. But all in all, it turned out just fine! Especially the chorus. With some adjustment..do you take singing lessons?

 

Luzi: I'm in STAG.

 

Beschenko: Luzi really wanted to take singing lessons..but with the financial issues..it just wasn't an option..

 

Frank: We'll find a solution for that.

 

Beschenko: When will we be able to listen to it?

(Luzi's record of 'Be Mine' is played while Timo is shown calling his dad.)

 

Timo(Turkish.): Dad, Dad...The doctor said...it's really bad.

 

 

[Raumschiff Records - Foyer]

 

Secretary: It would be great if one of you'd be there to give interviews, but not Billy, he's always so worked up after the act.

 

Caro: Does one get served here, too?

 

Secretary: Sorry, but our receptionists is sick, and I'm incapable of magic.

 

Caro: I want to talk to Frank Peters?

 

Secretary: In which matter?

 

Caro: I'd like to tell him myself. Frank –Mr. Peters and I have met last week. I am sure, that he will be pleased to see me.

 

Secretary: Frank is in the studio right now, talking to a singer. Oh, you want to apply?

 

Caro: As an assistant.

 

Assistant: Oh, aren't you a little too young?

 

Caro: Aren't you a little too pregnant?

 

Assisstant: Well let me tell you something, you give me your application papers and we'll get in touch with you in case..... Is there anything else?

 

Caro: Can I have them back? I'd rather take care of it myself that Frank will......

 

Assisstant: I'm right back!

 

(She hurrys off to the restrooms.)

 

Caro: What the …

 

 

[Pestalozzi - Schoolground]

 

Ronnie: Hey Schumi (famous German Racecardriver). This isn't going to work out with no keys.

 

Ben: Roadkiller. Congratulations, very intelligent if you're trying to cover up a murder.

 

Ronnie: Did Vogel protect you or me earlier?

 

Ben: The keys!

 

Ronnie: I'm just asking cause I want to know if I've got any chances with her. The way she pulled us apart..I'd love to know if she uses that much power for other things as well.

 

Ronnie: Ahhh, I get it...deescalation..

 

Ben: Listen Ronnie, I've got other things to worry about than getting into fights with you. My friend is in the hospital..and by the way, it's our fault that he's there..

 

Ronnie: It's getting on my last nerve, you wailing on about this. It was an accident. Period.

 

Ben: Then give me back the keys, and you're rid of my wailing.

 

Ronnie: Next time, you won't get off so easy. Then there will be no watch-dog saving your ass!

 

 

[Pestalozzi – Headmaster office]

Helena: It's Helena.

 

Bergmann: Helena, what gives me the pleasure?

 

Helena: I thought, that maybe the two of us could have dinner together.

 

Bergmann: Today? It's a little short notice.

 

Helena: That usually hasn't posed a problem before. So you can't or you don't want to?

 

Bergman: I generally do not mind inviting beautiful Ladies to dinner, but I also like to know what I'm used for.

 

Helena: I see. Let's say, that our date would also bear a business part.

 

Bergmann: Come on, let's be blunt. What is it?

 

Helena: It's about your son. He hasn't exactly been the statutory student lately. And since the situation doesn't seem to be resolving itself, I shall have to intervene.

 

Bergmann: You know, he has just come out of a difficult situation..

 

Helena: Ben is in a difficult phase.

 

Bergmann: May be. What are you planning?

 

Helena: That I would like to discuss with you over dinner. Don't be afraid, I only want the best for him, too.

Helena: It's about a three day outdoor team coaching work shop.

 

Bergmann: Don't fool me.

 

Helena: I'm afraid that you're underestimating the situation. Ben has been repeatedly getting into fights on school grounds. I cannot tolerate that behavior any further. That camp would be a great opportunity for him. You should at least. Take a look at it.

 

Bergmann(to Ben): Wait!

Bergmann(to Helena): You are right, we should discuss this privately. Saal 1 at eight?

 

Helena: At eight.

 

(Hangs up)

 

Bergmann: This was the head of your school.

 

Ben: So?

 

Bergmann: You fought with Ronnie again?

 

Ben: Almost. You should see my car! He wrote roadkiller all over it. How was I not to flip out at that?

 

Bergmann: I do understand you. But you do see, that it wasn't the best idea to confront him at school?

 

Ben: Yes, I know. It won't happen again.

 

Bergmann: Ok. How is your friend Timo?

 

Ben: I'm heading to the clinic in a few.

 

Bergmann: Ben?

Ben: Yes!?

Bergmann: You really need to pull yourself together...this time, the stakes are too high!

 

Ben: I know.

 

 

[Raumzeit Records – Foyer]

 

(Caro took the secretarie's place over and picks up the phone when it rings.)

 

Caro: Raumzeit Records, Caro Eichkamp. Katja isn't here, but you can talk to me. Appointment for the booth at the trade show? Yes, of course Mr. Jungheld. I'll take care of it. You have a nice day, too.

 

(Two mean looking men arrive, making Caro nervous.)

 

Caro: Me, I mean..the phone rang,and I thought I could...

 

Mr. Kittner: We have an appointment with Mr. Peters.

 

Caro: Yes, Herr Kittler!

Mr. Kittner: Kittner.

 

Mr. Kaltermeyer: And Kaltermeyer, for the marketing of Nuni.

Caro: Yes, then I'll inform Frank.

 

(Caro tries to figure out which quick dial is for Frank's bureau – without success)

 

Caro: Well, yes, maybe we should rather not disturb him yet..he's in a conference.. Coffee?

[Hospital]

 

Ben: Excuse me, I'd like to see Timo Özgul

 

Nurse: And you are?

 

Ben: Ben Bergmann, a friend of him. We go to the same school.

 

Nurse: Let me see if you can go see him. Please, sit down.

 

(Flashback)

Ben: “Now pull ahead already!”

(/Flashback)

Nurse: Come on, you wanted to see him. Come on.

 

 

[Hospital Timo's room]

Ben: Hey. If I'm disturbing you right now, I could come back later. But let me make just one thing clear, Timo. I can understand that you're mad. The thing with Luzi and I shouldn't have happened. This wasn't planned.

 

Timo: Who cares?

 

Ben: I thought you might want to talk about it.

 

Timo: Why? I'm out of the game anyways.

 

Ben: Nonsense, as far as I know, you have always been Luzi's great love. That with us just happened out of the heat of the moment.

 

Timo: Don't bullshit me, no one cares.

 

Ben: What's up?

 

Timo: I can't walk anymore.

 

Ben: That...that will probably only take its time, but Timo, you're going to be okay. The feeling will come back.

 

Timo: No, I won't. I'm paraplegic. They are dead, okay? Nothing will come back.

 

 

[Raumschiff Records]

Frank: Once you're on the inside , the options are grand, here a commercial jingle, there a background performance.

 

Karin: But not that it gets in the way of her graduation!

 

Frank: We'll manage that of course. I'm going to be with you in a minute! For a first time performance,this was very impressive. I'm going to get in touch with you in the next few days.

 

Karin: It was very interesting.

 

Frank: Of course you're welcome any time.Bye have a nice day!

 

Karin: Bye.

 

 

Frank: Katja,could you please.. - - Who are you?

 

Caro(into the phone): Hold on a minute, the conference is just over now! Yes, I'll ask...

 

Caro(to Frank): It's Mr.Simucek of Crustic records.

 

Frank: I'll call him back.

 

Caro: UnfortunatelyMr. Peters has to go to his next appointment, he will call you back.

 

Caro(to Frank): Caro Eichkamp, I'm interested in the job as your new assistant.

 

Frank: And what have you done with my old assistant?

 

Caro: She has been to the restroom for quite a while now and I..

 

Frank: And you thought, you'd just employ yourself?

 

Caro: I thought, I'd help out where I could. There was a lot to do, and...my application papers, you'll find here. All you'll have to do is say yes.

 

 

[Hospital – Timo's room]

 

Ben: Does Luzi know yet?

 

Timo: You're the first... beside my father.

 

Ben: Are you sure, that nothing can be done? I heard they're growing cartilage for cases such as these..

 

Timo: Sure, I'll just get a whole new spine..

 

Ben: If there's anything you need..you only need to say so..

 

Timo: There really is something you can do... Leave me alone.

 

Ben: You have no idea how sorry I am.

 

 

[Hospital]

 

Luzi: Hey,you're still here! Thanks for being here. It was really worth it! The recording in the studio was so cool! The song was great! And Peter is so cool! And you'll never guess who was the receptionist!

 

What's up? Is something wrong with Timo? Is he very mad?

 

Ben: Timo is paralyzed.

 

Luzi: No, that's not true...The swelling will go back, and then the feeling comes back. That's what mom said, too.

 

Ben: Listen to me. Timo will be in a wheelchair, forever.

 

Luzi: Stop talking such bullshit! I don't want to hear such idiocy. That's not true. It can't be..

 

(Ben hugs her but Luzi catches herself before she lets go and pushes him back)

 

Luzi: Was this us?

 

Ben: Luzi, it's not of your fault. You have nothing to do with this. Really.

 

Luzi: Ben, I...This..with us..it's just not such great timing.

 

Ben: Listen to me..

 

Luzi: I..I have to go and see Timo.

 

[Timo's room]

Luzi: Hi. Oh god Timo, I'm am so terribly sorry.

 

Timo: So, word has spread

 

Luzi: Ben told me.

 

Timo(snorts): Of course. Go to him, he's probably waiting.

 

Luzi: But I want to be here. With you.

 

Timo: All of a sudden! I thought you and Ben, you're...

 

Luzi: Timo, forget Ben. I'm here because of you..and everything else doesn't matter right now.

I won't leave you alone.

(Timo snorts)

 

 

(Commercial)

 

Part 3

 

[Chulos]

 

Ben went to Chulos (where Jenny and Emma are dancing (with Bodo) ). Ben gets chased by Timo's words.

 
Timo(voice over): I can't walk anymore. Nothing will come back. They are dead, okay? It won't be alright. Nothing will come back. I can't walk anymore. I can't walk anymore...

 

(Ben spots Ronnie and Sophie. He walks over.)

Ronnie: Well, someone is pissed off.

 

(Ben shoves Ronnie.)

 

Sophie: Are you crazy?

Ronnie: No, no let him..someone got his balls back.

 

(Ronnie shoves Ben)

 

Ben: Was this all you got?

 

Ronnie: Not for a long shot.

 

(Ronnie punches Ben.)

 

Ronnie: Better?

 

Ben: Laughable.

 

(Ronnie punches and kicks him in the guts, letting Ben go down.)

 

(Quick spotting of cute Jemma being shocked)

 

Ronnie: What's up with you? Do you finally got enough?

 

Ben: Not by a long shot!

 

(Ben laughs like a maniac.)

 

 

[Hospital - Timo's room]

 

Luzi: I'm going to call my mom, then she can talk to the doctor again.

 

Timo: How is that supposed to help?

 

Luzi: I don't know..we'll see. But you won't have to go through this alone. We can do this. Together.

The two of us. Like before.

 

Timo: Why? Cause one doesn't abandon a cripple?

 

Luzi: Nonsense, because you're damn important to me!

 

Timo: All of a sudden!

 

Luzi: The thing with Ben...happened..it didn't mean anything.

 

Timo: Didn't mean anything? Grand. You mean I became a cripple for nothing?

 

Luzi: Stop it.

 

Timo: You turned me down big time when I was lying here, remember? You told me you were in love with someone else.

 

Luzi: But..

 

Timo: That's why I left the hospital to go looking for you. Because I wanted to talk to you. Because of you I didn't wait for the doctor's ok. That's why the vertebra is fractured, you get that? If I wouldn't have left the hospital to go looking for you, I'd still feel my legs. And now you're telling me, it didn't mean anything. Are you mad?          
 

Luzi: I didn't mean for this to happen.

 

Timo: I don't fucking care what you meant to happen. Because of you and Ben, I'm going to spend my life in a wheelchair. So get the hell out of here. You fucking ruined my life.
