Previously on Hand aufs Herz
Michael: Well, I'll definitely cook something and you can decide when you come. I'll definitely be there waiting for you.
Ben: We'll meet each other tonight.
Bea: I don't know if I have time.
Ben: I'll wait for you. You know where.
(Door rings)
Bea: Here I am.
Ben: There you are.
INTRO
[Pestalozzi, attic]
Ben: Are you real?
Bea laughs and pinches Ben.
Ben: Ow. And you're sure you haven't taken the wrong door? Or won’t vanish into thin air?
Bea: I'm here. With you. And I'll stay.
(B&B kissing going on again..)
[Michael's]
Michael: Helena.
Helena: Am I allowed to come in? It won't take long. I only wanted to go over some documents with you. I need your signature on them, you being the deputy head.
Michael: And it so happened that this couldn't wait until tomorrow?
Helena: Well, it could have. But you know me, I don't like to wait. But apparently you're expecting someone. I'll just leave the papers here and maybe you can take a look at them. If the woman of your heart should be even more late you'll at least have something to read.
Michael: Thanks.
Helena: I wish you both a nice evening.
[Pestalozzi – schoolground]
The reporter is still shooting photos
Luzi: Hey Timo, wait!
Reporter: You're seeing to it that your handicapped friend can stay at your school and he isn't even thankful for that. Does that make you angry?
Luzi: Get this thing (the microphone) away from me.
Reporter: Did your label want to give a boost to your career through this or was this your idea?
Luzi: I donated the money anonymously and I don't even want you to write about it.
Reporter: Are you really serious? (He’s so slimy I want to punch him)
Luzi: Of course I am. I only want my friend to stay at our school. - Hey, Timo, wait!
Reporter: I think we have what we need.
Luzi: Why do you believe those flacks more than me?
Timo: Why do you think?
Luzi: I didn't donate the money to help out my career. But simply because I don't want you to go.
Timo: Right, and this tabloid bloke suddenly developed thelepatic powers. And that's why he wanted to do a story about the poor handicapped boy who is getting help from the star.
Luzi: I have no idea how he knew about that. But that you think I would do something like that..that's the pits. Hey, we're friends after all, don't you remember? I'd never put you on the spot like that.
Timo: Then why didn't you just accept that I don't want your money.
Luzi: Because then you wouldn't have been able to stay.
Timo: Yes, and that was completely okay for me, because I had already decided that for myself. All of you believe that only because I'm sitting in a wheelchair now, you know better than me what is best for me. And it's totally okay to decide things without asking me first.
Luzi: Well, I only thought that you're too proud to take the money from me. That's why I donated it anonymously, because I thought that way it would be easier for you.
Timo: Then simply don't do that in the future. I can still think very clearly and I know what's best for me, okay?
Luzi: Okay. I got it.
Timo: I think it would be better if we don't see each other for a while.
Luzi: What? Why?
Timo: Because you're simply not the Luzi you once were anymore, but the Luzi who wants to make it big.
Luzi: And do you know who you are? You're not the Timo I got to know anymore either, but you are only the Timo who is sitting in a wheelchair now and became a distrusting asshole.
[Pestalozzi – attic]
Ben: If we were laying under the clear sky now would be the perfect moment for a shooting star.
Bea: Like in the open-air pool.
Ben: Only better.
Bea: What
wish would you make?
Ben: That we'd stay here together forever.
Bea: Forever? That's a damn long time.
Ben: Hm, I can live with that. Do you know what else I would wish for?
Bea: That are a lot of shooting stars which would have to pass us by.
Ben: Enough, so that everything will be fine.
Bea: Okay, what else would you wish for?
Ben: That we'd fall asleep together only to wake up together, too. Without you being in a hurry to go or you throwing me out.
Bea: That can be arranged. Just not today.
Ben: I can wait as long as you don't change your mind again.
Bea: I made my choice.
(more kissing... Where is Jemma?)
[Saal 1]
(phone ringing)
Helena: Stefan.
Stefan: Good evening Helena. I was just wondering where you might be right now.
Helena: I was still working and now I'm having a snack.
Stefan: I just opened a bottle of Barolo and would be happy to be able to enjoy your company. What do you say?
Helena: That sounds alluring.
Stefan: Should I send you a cab?
Helena: Uh, that's really inconvenient today. I still have things to take care of.
Stefan: And you're not able to postpone them?
Helena: I'm sorry, but I'll call you tomorrow. Have a good evening.
[Michael's]
Helena: I'm sorry Michael. I really don't mean to disturb you, but I was already home before I noticed that I misplaced my keys. I must have forgotten them here at your place. Did you see them somewhere?
Michael: No I didn't happen to see them.
Helena: May I, just for a moment?
Michael: Uhh...?
Helena: Oh, how silly of me, here they are. Well, if you'd have taken a look at the papers then...Hm, your guest still hasn’t arrive.
Michael: Yeah, apparently something else came up.
Helena: Oh, then you’ve cooked in vain and drunk alone...
Michael: No, no, good wine doesn't need company.
Helena: Hm, do I smell coq au vin?
Michael: It is coq au vin.
Helena: Ah, what a shame, who'd pass up on something like that.
Michael: Are you hungry?
Helena: Me? No. Though, I do love your coq au vin...maybe, just a small helping?
Michael: Please. - Sit down.
[Pestalozzi – attic]
(You can guess..B&B kissing again. Not that I don't like to see them kissing, but it's just unfair. Why do they get a love nest IN school? Now they can neck and shag in every break. Can't Jemma at least move up from transparent window to backstage behind the curtains? Just saying...)
Ben: What time is it?
Bea: We still have time.
Ben: We'll make this work. Really, I can do this.
Bea: I'm not worried so much about you. But I don't know if I'll be able to get through this. Maybe I should change schools.
Ben: No way. (Then we couldn't hang out in our love nest anymore and make Jemma fans jealous.) Bea you belong here at the Pestalozzi. You want to become headmaster one day, don't you remember?
Bea: Yes, I planned to, but...This can't be done in one day. For us that would be the only solution.
Ben: Ach, I can graduate just as well somewhere else.
Bea: No you can't. With your history no other school will take you.
Ben: We'll find a solution. I'm sure.
[Michael's]
Helena: I'm really sorry that it didn't work out with Bea and you.
Michael(laughs): I don't believe a word you're saying.
Helena: I admit, I don't like her much. And she isn't the right one for you, as evidenced by recent events.
Michael: Yeah, that's exactly how Bea sees it, too.(Aw, Helena+Bea having the same opinion. Sweet.)
Helena: Let's not delve further into this topic now. (She doesn't seem to like it. Or she's evading, proofing her secret affair with Bea.) Tothe future?
Michael: To
the future!
(They clink glasses)
Michael: Tell me, forgetting your keys before, that was...
Helena: That was an accident. (Bwaahaha, good one Helena.)
Michael: But it was actually a rather good thing. (Oh you're so lame.)I mean otherwise you wouldn't be here now.
They kiss.
Helena: Um, Michael, I think this is not such a good idea now. (I'm together with Bea and I'm not a cheater like you are.)
Michael: Why not?
Helena: Well, I'm sitting at a table you have set for another woman. (Class, she has class.) I ate her meal and I drink the wine you bought for her.
Michael: So what? (Jeez. CLASS! Michael.)
Helena: If something were to happen between us then I would want it to be only about us. I don't want to be the distraction for your heartsickness.
Michael: Of course, I'm sorry, I...I drank too much of the wine.
Helena: I'll be going then.
(As you can see with the comments becoming more and more...this episode is starting to bore me, so I have to brighten the translation work up a bit ;) I hope you don't mind. )
[The Vogel home]
Bea: Hey, you're still awake!
Piet: Hey, yeah.
Bea: What are you doing there?
Piet: I'm forging plans for the future.
Bea: Uh, did
I miss something? Wow, cool car. Are you planning to buy a car?
Piet: Why not?
Bea: Because you love your old bus.
Piet: Yeah, but I tinker around with it more than I’m able to drive it.
Bea: Oh, and that suddenly occured to you now?
Piet: Well, yes, especially after I got this great offer from the bank. Here. A loan for buying a car.
Bea: From the Herani bank....
Piet: Yes. Miriam and I did the financing of the house with them. They're good people.
[flasback]
Bea: I don't let myself be threatened by you. And don't you dare drag my brother into that.
Stefan: Then keep your hands off my son.
[/flasback]
Bea: Was the loan your idea?
Piet: No, that's the thing. It's some kind of special for...wait..long-standing customers. And I don't think I'll ever get such a great offer again.
Bea: I...I don't know. I mean, if you need a car, you can have mine.
Piet(laughs): I'm sorry, no offense but your car can't compete with this fancy ride. And now stop forming that worrylines on your face. How was your evening, what did you do?
Bea: I was...out.
Piet: With Miriam. Well... but that's good.
Bea: I'm
going to bed.
Piet: Yes, I will, too, in a moment. - Oh and sis, it's nice that you're back. That way we have more from each other,
again.
Bea: I think so, too.
Piet: Sleep well.
[Bergmann villa]
Stefan: Good morning.
Ben: Morning. Do you already have plans for noon today?
Stefan: No, not yet at least.
Ben: Good. Then we’ll meet for lunch. I’ll cook something.
Stefan: Ben. You can’t cook.
Ben: Well, then you’ll be surprised.
Stefan: What did I do to deserve this honour?
Ben: I have something important to tell you. Something very important.
Stefan: And what exactly?
Ben: I’ll tell you at lunch.
Stefan: Will I disapprove?
Ben: I have to go.
I think you are right. I’ll order us some lunch.
Stefan: That’s a sensible decision.
[Bea’s home]
Bea is researching possible new job opportunities on the internet.
Bea: German...music
Flashback (No, not of Ben and Bea kissing this time)
Stefan: Be that as it may, there is too much at stake for my son. Because of that I expect from you the kind of professionalism you should be able to show as a teacher. See to it that, in the future, you’ll be able to control your feelings
Bea:... and math.
Beaon the phone: Hello? Äh hello! Bea Vogel speaking. I’ve just seen your job opening. Math and music, that’s exactly my combination of subjects. I’m interested. Yes. Of course, we can make an appointment. Tomorrow, already!? Unfortunately, that’s...perfect. Yes. Okay, then I’ll come by tomorrow after classes...16 o’clock? Alright. See you then.
[In front of the Pestalozzi]
Teacher: Hello, Herr Heisig
Michael: Morning.
Ben: Oh, morning, Herr Heisig.
Michael: Morning. You wayward runt. When you leave here someday then...
Helena: Are you talking to yourself or are you swearing at your rival?
Michael: Helena, a good morning to you, too.
Helena: You look as though you didn’t sleep very well. Don’t worry about it. My night wasn’t so good, either.
Michael: If that was due to the end of yesterday evening, I’m sorry.
Helena: Forget it. Break-ups are painful, and so somethimes you make mistakes.
Michael: Yes, looks like it.
[Pestalozzi, staircase]
Caroto other student: I’ll see what I can do. But you won’t be making anything more than coffee in the first few month. I mean, even for me starting up was difficult. But by now, I’ve managed to generate one or two press campaigns. Frank considers carefully who is allowed to handle this stuff and who isn’t.
But in this business, if you always do the right thing at the right time, there is only one way for you to go.
Caro points upwards.
[Pestalozzi, hallway]
Emma and Jenny are watching Luzi and Timo
Emma: Since Luzi donated the money for the modifications, there is radio silence between those two.
Jenny: I can totally understand that he is pissed. It was really naive of her to think that the donation would stay anonymous, hm.
Emma: Yes, but how was she supposed to know that?
Jenny: You know, she has consultants around her who are telling her exactly what she has to do to generate album sales. That’s how it works.
Emma: She would never do something like that.
Jenny: Emma, I like Luzi. And I’m not implying that she exploits her friends for PR stunts. But she really has to understand that she can’t continue on like this. Everything she does, will be made public by the press. We are really lucky that she isn’t a part of STAG, anymore.
Emma: I’m feeling so sorry for Luzi.
Jenny: You don’t have to feel sorry for her. Luzi will be successful and earn money as a musician. And that is exactly what she wants.
Emma: But it’s not worth it if she loses her friends and doesn’t talk to Timo anymore because of it.
Jenny: Well, that’s the price.
[Pestalozzi, teachers' lounge]
Michael:Morning.
Bea:Good morning…Because of yesterday…
Michael:Because of yesterday…it’s all right, Bea. It’s was arranged this way. You were supposed to make a decision. And obviously you did.
Bea:I…I hope…
Michael:You hope, probably, that I’m not mad. And I’m not. Why should I be? I, uhm, just managed to get it now, too. I don’t know…I…I wish you all the best. I hope you’ll be happy.
(Bell rings)
Bea:I hope that, too…for you.
Michael:Thanks.
[Pestalozzi, classroom]
A student reads an article about Luzi’s donation to the school
“…thus she donated a disabled lift to her school so that her impoverished friend Timo Ö. is able to stay at their mutual school. If Luzi hadn’t paid the costs, Timo would have had to leave the school and all his friends. It’s touching how Luzi supports her disabled friend. So much social commitment and in addition such talent: Who wouldn’t like to have Luzi Beschenko as a friend?”
Bodo:Come on, it totally doesn’t matter what they write. They don’t have any idea anyway.
Luzi:Well, your advice about the anonymous donation was bullshit, in any case.
Bodo:The headline…But concerning Timo…
Luzi:Who doesn’t even talk to me anymore?
Bodo:Ey, but who is still at this school at least!
Luzireads on: “Caro Eichkamp is the best friend and closest confidant of the young singer Luzi Beschenko.”
The English teacher enters the class room.
Teacher:Good morning, class!
Class:Good morning.
Luzi:(to Caro) F**k, it was you? You told the press about the donation?
Caro:Now you just have to say ‘Thank you, Caro’!
Teacher:Luzi, how about you?
[Pestalozzi, hallway]
Ben:Mrs Jäger!
Mrs Jäger:Ben. What can I do for you?
Ben:Would you be so kind and give this to Mrs Schmidt-Heisig?
Mrs Jäger:Of course. Uhm, do you want me to relay something to her, too?
Ben:(laughs) That’s not necessary. Uhm, the content is self-explanatory.
Mrs Jäger:Well then, ok.
Ben:Goodbye!
Mrs Jäger:Bye!
Bea:Mr Bergmann. What are you doing in the teachers’ corridor?
Ben:Relax! Nobody can harm us.
Bea:What do you mean?
Ben:You’re not my teacher anymore.
Bea:What?
Ben:I’ve just submitted the forms to drop-out of school.
Bea:But…
Ben:Sometimes it…it can be so easy.
Bea:That…that…You can’t do that! We talked about it! (A teacher comes by) Of course you can catch up on the test, just not this week. Maybe next week.
Bea pulls Ben into the consultation room.
Bea:Ben, it can’t happen! You can’t just drop out like this!
Ben:Of course I can! I don’t want us to hide forever! And I also don’t want you to leave the school. You’re needed here.
Bea:We agreed on you not dropping out of graduation!
Ben:You agreed on it. I don’t really care about my graduation. I can still graduate in the future. Now it’s finally about us . And that’s why…
Bea:NO! No. It’s not about us. At least not solely.
Ben:But?
Bea:Ben, you…you don’t even have any idea what this means!
Ben:I do! That we can be together!
Bea:No! It means that my brother will face financial difficulties and lose his house.
Ben:Ok, but what does that have to do with us?
Bea:Your father. He threatened me. If I don’t keep my hands off of you he will call in the Piet’s mortgages and he will lose his house.
